How it works.

How it works.

· Share your idea.

Get in touch with me via the contact form or email. I’m happy to advise you on pose and composition that will best suit your commission and reflect the feel you’d like for the piece as well as the materials for this.

· confirm the details.

We’ll agree on size, composition, and any optional extras (such as background elements or additional subjects for portraits). You’ll then receive a confirmation and booking.

· The drawing process.

Your piece is carefully hand-drawn using archival materials. I work carefully and intentionally, focusing on detail, texture and character using very fine line ink or pencil, which I gradually build up to create texture and tone. Depending upon the size and level of detail, pieces take me from about 4 hours (small florals) to 9-16 hours (detailed A4 portraits, additions of backgrounds etc).

· finishing touches.

Once complete, your artwork is prepared for postage with protective, thoughtful packaging. I will send you a photo of the piece and invoice.

· Delivery.

Your finished piece is sent to you, or it can be sent directly to a person you’d like to gift with a handwritten message. It will be wrapped in acid-free tissue, placed in a presentation box and posted in a secure cardboard box, all from the sustainable UK Tiny Box Company.

A note on reference photos.

Clear, well-lit images help me to capture the best possible likeness and detail. If you need any help with choosing, I’m very happy to advise.

A note on nature & process.

My approach is rooted in a slower way of making - each piece takes time, care and attention which is reflected in both the process and finished piece. Once we have confirmed the details or your commission, I can then give you a final price which is based upon the number of hours it will take me to create your artwork. I can also give you an estimated completion date, usually 2-4 weeks, but this may vary depending on busy periods and other bookings I have.
